Luno — Privacy Policy

Luno is a bedtime-story app for children aged 3 to 10, intended to be set up and used with adult supervision. We keep the data we handle to the strict minimum needed to make the app work. This policy explains what that is.

What we collect

• Child profile name — a first name or nickname you choose. If you'd rather not use a real name, a nickname works just as well.
• Child age (3–10) — used to adapt the story's vocabulary and length.
• Story preferences — themes, story duration, narrator voice, and the stories you save to your library.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active Luno Premium subscription, as reported by the App Store.

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, contact lists, precise location, advertising identifiers, or any behavioural-tracking data. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising.

Where this data lives

Profiles, preferences, and saved stories are stored locally on your device. We don't run our own servers and we don't have a copy of your data.

Third-party services we use

• Anthropic (Claude API) — generates the text of each bedtime story. The child's first name (or nickname), age, chosen themes and duration are sent to Anthropic to produce the story. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI (Text-to-Speech API) — generates the spoken narration of a story. The story text to be read aloud is sent to OpenAI. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat & Apple App Store — process and validate the optional Luno Premium subscription. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

These providers process the data only to deliver their part of the service and are not permitted to use it to train their models on identifiable inputs from this app.

Children's privacy

Luno is meant to be used by children together with a parent or guardian. We collect no contact information and no behavioural data from anyone, including children. A parent can edit or delete any child profile at any time from the Settings tab — deleting a profile removes it and its data from the device. If you believe a child has provided information you'd like removed, contact us at the address below.

Data retention

Local data stays on your device until you delete the relevant profile/story or uninstall the app. Story and narration requests are processed transiently by the providers above according to their own retention policies.

Your choices

• Use a nickname instead of a real name.
• Edit or delete any profile and any saved story from inside the app.
• Uninstall the app to remove all local data.
• Manage or cancel a subscription from your Apple ID account settings.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
